i don't know what insecure version of past booleen decided to be anti-hozier because i have stayed away from his music for too long. i think i heard that fuckass tiktok i take my whiskey neaaaaat song far too many times and built up some narrative in my head about how i don't like hozier. but i am older now and am trying to gaf less. and this song came on in a spotify jam when my friends and i were playing overwatch this past week and i was like wait. why is it lowkey good. and then i listened to it on repeat on my bus ride to and from work the next day. and it has earned a coveted spot on my summer playlist. well done hozier.

this is one of those songs that i listen to and am like "this is about me". i played it in the car and my mom told me she heard it was written about a character from a book but no no. me. i'll be listening to this song walking to work or school or just going anywhere being an independent woman like "yesssss this world IS moving and i'm right there with it!!!!" it's a good mood booster.

elo has so many certified summer bangers and i feel like i have a new one on my annual summer playlists every year. last year it was telephone line. the year before it was turn to stone. now livin' thing is having its moment in the sun. also every time i listen to this song i think of sinjin drowning but only because there was an edit made of their coffee cam videos to this song and it fit their vibe so well. just a fun time all around.

micah dailey-white is an artist i found on tiktok but not for the reason you would think. i followed him because he makes vine-esque comedy videos with funny punchlines and fast editing. he's a funny guy. and also a talented musician apparently! this is a great song! it always reminds me of the game bomb rush cyberfunk for no other reason than pure vibes. i think it would fit in really well in that game's soundtrack.

something changed in my brain chemistry when i first listened to this song. i have such a deep history with this song that i don't think i could fully convey with the amount of space i've given myself here. it's my go-to anti-anxiety song. also my go to song for drowning out any noise around me (i have misophonia). i listened to this song on repeat ALOTTTTT in high school. there were many times before i had noise cancelling headphones where i would just crank this song into my earbuds and hope for the best. it serves the same purpose to me that white noise does for most people. it was my top song on spotify wrapped 3 years in a row and at my most stressed-out i listened to it 800 times in one year. and i'm still not sick of it. yes i am neurodivergent.

not gonna lie i first heard this song in a doctor who episode but that doesn't mean it isn't fire!!! quite the opposite actually. it's amazing. spring has sprung and therefore all music sounds better and is more enjoyable. i also successfully put multiple people on to this song because i'm so cool and nonchalant and my music taste is amazing.
